Formula - The lipstick themselves are very runny and thin much like the majority of the CP Ultramattes. It doesn’t dry too fast which gives you a good amount of time to fix mistakes. It does set a little into you lip lines and creases but to me that’s not a big deal to me but for someone with more lines this might be a little concerning.
The lip pencils are very pigmented, creamy and easy to apply. I didn’t have any issues with tugging and pulling. I also definitely want to touch on the fact that the lip pencils from the kit is exactly the same as CP lippie pencils. They even have the same problem where the lid doesn’t ‘lock’ properly when closing them. (I actually nearly lost the lid to this in the back of my friends car while applying this on the go).
Scent - It smells like lemon drizzle, greek yoghurt bundt cake. Very specific I know but thats exactly what they taste like to me. I’ve heard from some reviewers that it’s a little bit of a sweet scented but this isn’t quite the scent I imagined. Though, fret not if you’re not a lemon drizzle, greek yoghurt bundt cake fan, the smells goes away very quickly.
Lasting power - Amazing, nothing short of amazing, I wore Exposed all day through meals, copious cups of tea and it still looked pretty good by 5. The only problem is when you reapply. Similar to some CP Ultramattes, the lipstick goes a bit 'chunky’ and starts to pill. I’m starting to find this problem is a lot more common than I thought, happens to basically all liquid mattes except I tend to not notice with many brands as because of their longevity and even-ness of fading, I don’t reapply at all. In fact I think I’ve stopped carrying lipsticks all together since the rise of liquid mattes.
Exposed (single) - Tan/Yellow based nude
I! GET! IT! I! GET! IT! I GET WHY THIS IS SO COVETED! This is such a perfect shade, soooo flattering I’ve never worn a nude that’s suited me so well, it doesn’t wash me out, it doesn’t veer towards pink/peach and it doesn’t look too ‘myspace scene kid circa 2008'
Dolce (single) - Cool toned taupe-nude
I feel like this is the shade that started it all. The iconic, OG original, first release lip kit colour. Its just as I imagined, very similar to Colourpop Beeper, perhaps Beeper just ever slightly warmer.
Candy (single) - Pink based nude
Unfortunately I have too many dupes of this to still be excited about this shade. In fact, since I haven’t used it yet I might just sell it or give it to a lucky duck for Christmas.
Brown Sugar (kit) - Neutral, soft brown
Definitely an underrated colour from Kylie’s collection and my new favourite. This is actually very similar to Dolce on me, but it’s slightly less grey and suits my skin tone a lot better.
Ginger (kit) - Neutral, rich terracotta
Such a gorgeous terracotta and surprisingly I don’t have any dupes for this! It reminds of Limecrime Riot but with a hint of orange.
