Styling basics: Chic, rolled sleeves

As the cooler weather sweeps through Melbourne so does my annual obsession with button downs. So timeless and effortlessly chic, a good shirt really elevates your look. Chambray, cotton, striped, plain, checks, I LOVE THEM ALL! Some of the best tricks tricks I've learned while styling are relating to folding sleeves(in a chic way), neatly tucking shirts (in a chic way), or cuffing jeans(in a chic way) especially on myself since yah gurl's short af. One of my favourite styling tricks is a really neat sleeve cuff. You see it on some of the chicest street style girls and guys:

I call it the 'corner cuff' because of the short peek of the cuff corner but some call it the 'JCrew cuff'. I MEAN If it's good enough for Jenna Lyon, it's good enough for me!

It's honestly so much more chic than a bulky 'fold, fold and fold over again' and much nicer than just pushing the sleeves up!

Here's a comprehensive step by step to mastering it:
Starting with just the cuff buttons undone, the sleeve buttons (if there are any) done up

Step 1. Fold over the same length as the cuff itself & tidy it up (one of the keys to getting this look is keeping it all nice and tidy during every fold)

Step 1. Fold over the same length as the cuff itself & tidy it up (one of the keys to getting this look is keeping it all nice and tidy during every fold)

Step 2. Fold that piece over again over the cuff leaving about 1.5cm/0.5 inch at the top

Step 2. Fold that piece over again over the cuff leaving about 1.5cm/0.5 inch at the top

Step 3. Tidy that shit up, leaving about 1/2 the corner of the cuff corner out

Step 4. Push it up just above the elbow

Step 5. Wonder why you've not done this earlier?
