I cannot believe how disappointed I am with this! A few weeks back I got the sample set of all the Commodity scents from Sephora and fell in love with BOOK. Not offence to the other scents but they were all pretty basic or dupes of perfumes or oils I already had.
BOOK is the perfect dupe of Le Labo’s cult Santal 33 for about half the price. I was absolutely overjoyed at first, the woodsy, mellow notes are right at the top the list for me at the moment. I wore this for about a week and went along just fine until I switched the perfume for a day and realised DAMN IT WAS STRONG (my Gucci, not Commodity)! Normally for most scents I can faintly smell it on myself all day and when the hot water/steam hits me in the shower at night I get a whiff of it. Then I went and had a smell of the clothes I wore that day and they all smelt very neutral while the jacket I wore that had some remnants of week old Gucci Flora was still quite scented.
So I’ve come to the conclusion that although the scent is strong at first and it is an eau de perfume, it definitely does not live up to its name or price tag. bI’ve had samples sprays of Le Labo Santal that lasted for a week. Now I find myself dousing myself, pulse points and all my clothes in order to get the scent message through thoroughly. This also makes me nervous about how this will wear when the weather's a bit warmer in summer. Whether it'll turn or just disappear and evaporate straight away.
