After months of contemplation I finally bit the bullet about got That Glow and Sweets! Since So Hollywood is my favourite and most used powder highlight (Becca Shimmering Perfector is my most used liquid) I thought I would get plenty of uses out of it. Considering the Australian dollar wasn’t doing so bad the week I bought these and Dash was willing to split shipping, I was sold!
My first impression was “ugh, I hate paper packaging”, it just doesn't look like something you would pay good money for and it doesn’t look like it’ll travel well at all. Though since this was not really every going leave the house I’m ok with it. Aside from the packaging I absolutely LOVE it. The shimmer/colour pay off is absolutely gorgeous, each shade goes on perfectly, blends smoothly and lasts all day. I’ve tried it with different brushes, fluffy, soft, hard, dense and sparse and I think I definitely need to invest in a good small fan brush.
While I could tell you which is my favourite shade from both palettes the reality is I wear a few of these mixed together for the exact effect I want:
“I haven’t slept but I still glow" = Golden Bronze + Dripping in Gold
“I’m going to take a lot go selfies today" = Dripping in Gold + Taffy + Marshmallow
“I want to look like I just worked out" = Sunburst + Marshmallow
“I’m done with this world, I’m going to use my highlight to beam myself into space" = Dripping in Gold + Butterscotch + Sassy Grape
Sunburst - Wears similar to Colourpop Lunchmoney. Nothing wrong with it but forgettable....
Golden Bronze - Almost a tiny bit dark for me, especially since we've just stepped out of winter and I'm fairly pale. I've definitely got to wait until summer to test this one out.
Bubbly - I'm embarrassed to say I can't tell the difference between this and Dripping in Gold when its on. Perhaps this has slightly larger pieces of shimmer? I can't tell, it's pretty much exactly the same as Dripping in Gold but I like it slightly less?
Dripping in Gold - This is my favourite shade, not only because it’s a perfect warm, bronze-y highlight I can wear pretty all year around, it also reminds me of this song. Very similar to Colourpop Wisp on my skin, wears gloriously. Totally GLEAMY catches the light just right, I'm pretty heavy handed with highlight and this never looks too 'overdone'
Marshmallow - A great highlight topper up there with MAC Lightscapade
Sassy Grape - This was surprisingly very wearable! I absolutely love it, as a highlight topper or just for that more ‘beam’ rather than ‘gleam’. This made me regret not getting Moonchild in fear that it was going to be too hard to wear.
Butterscotch - The colour of Butterscotch is perfect, champagne -y but this had slightly larger pieces of shimmer in it which makes it a bit too much for everyday wear.
Taffy - Favourite shade in this palette, need I say more?
